I'm well known for my ability to repair allsorts of cracked, dented and scraped bumpers, often with a saving of upto 75% on traditional bodyshop prices.
Bumper scrapes, scuffs, scratches, cracks and dents are often repairable for less than your insurance excess.
Most bodyshops can't be bothered to repair cracked bumpers, prefering the easier option of replacing, but they will still keep your car for 3 to 5 days. I can repair it at your premises within a couple of hours, at a fraction of the cost.
Most bodyshops will tell you that the bumper needs replacing, even for fairly minor damage. I believe in repairing and not replacing, where ever possible, thus reducing cost and time.

My van contains a paint mixing scheme enabling all colours to be matched to the manufacturers formulation.
Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the colour to take into account sunlight fading etc, this is where over 18 years of experience makes all the difference.
It is very rare that a colour defeats me.

Cracked & Dented Bumper Poole , Dorset - Repair Example 1
This Audi A4 rear bumper had received a considerable impact courtesy of high winds combined with a garden gate. A local body shop , rather predictably, condemned the bumper and quoted for a new one. I'm not aware of the replacement cost but I would imagine it being in the region of £ 400 to £ 500.
Fortunately the owner found my website and emailed a photo to me.
My biggest concern here, was the metal brace behind the bumper. ( You can just see this when you enlarge the photo ). It had the potential to hold the bumper out of shape therefore making the repair impossible. Fortunately I was able to reach the brace from behind and work the bumper back into its original shape.
Once done, it just needed plastic welding and a light filling of flexible plastic filler. After the filler was sanded down it was primed, painted and re-laquered and baked with an infra-red dryer.
It took 2 hours and cost the customer £ 100 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.

Cracked Bumper Southbourne , Dorset - Repair Example 2
This Range Rover rear bumper had a 8 inch crack and various scrapes. Someone had previously attempted a repair, which was never going to stand the test of time. Glueing cracks simply doesn't work, they must be welded to ensure a lasting repair.
The crack needed plastic welding and a light filling of flexible plastic filler. After the filler was sanded down it was primed, painted and re-laquered and baked with an infra-red dryer.
It took 2 hours and cost the customer £ 100 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.

This Ford Focus bumper had a coming together with a tow bar, as a result the plastic cracked and became distorted,
Having warmed the plastic to make it more pliable I reshaped the damge and welded the crack.
It is important to weld the plastic as opposed to simply gluing because plastic moves with changes in temperature, glue tends not to be flexible therefore will probably crack.
It only required a light 'skim' of flexible plastic filler prior to priming, painting and re-lacquering.
After baking the finished paint and lacquer (clearcoat), I smoothed the surface with various fine grades of 'wet and dry' sandpaper and then buffed to a shine.
It took just over 2 hours and cost the customer £ 90 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.

My biggest concern here, was the metal brace behind the bumper. ( You can just see this when you enlarge the photo ). It had the potential to hold the bumper out of shape therefore making the repair impossible.
Fortunately I was able to reach the brace from behind and work the bumper back into its original shape.
It is important to recover as much of the original shape to minimise the amount of filler.

Once done, it just needed plastic welding and a light filling of flexible plastic filler.
After the filler was sanded down it was primed, re-textured and re-painted and then baked with an infra-red dryer. Often the 'black' part of a bumper has a 'speckled' pattern this is re-produced by spraying a textured finish prior to painting.
It took a little over 2 hours and cost the customer £ 90 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.

This BMW bumper was damaged in the customers absence during the weekly visit to the supermarket, as a result the plastic cracked and became distorted,
Having warmed the plastic to make it more pliable I reshaped the damge and welded the crack. As above, no gluing !
In this instance I welded a strip of aluminium mesh into the plastic for extra strength.
It only required a light 'skim' of flexible plastic filler prior to priming, painting and re-lacquering.
After baking the finished paint and lacquer (clearcoat) I smoothed the surface with various fine grades of 'wet and dry' sandpaper and then buffed to a shine.
It took just over 2 hours and cost the customer £ 100 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.

Cracked & Dented Bumper - Winton , Dorset - Repair Example 6

My first impression of this Nissan Micra bumper was that it was probably beyond repair, however when I spoke to the customer I realised that there was some 'flexibility' regarding the end standard.
The customer didn't wish to risk her 'no-claims' and didn't see the point in spending £ 400 + replacing the bumper, therefore was prepared to accept a 'tidy up'.
There were 3 problems with this bumper :-
the dent, the crack and the toweye cover, which was distorted and wouldn't fit back in it's place.
Well, to cut a long story short, the crack and toweye cover were fine, (as expected) and the dent came out better than I expected (not perfect, about 95%) and as such the customer was pleasantly surprised.
It took just over 2 hours and cost the customer £ 100 . This repair was carried out at the customers home.
